Uwchlan supervisors approve stormwater study, engineering contracts and advertise zoning amendments

He said the township had secured $120,000 in construction grant funding for warning lights, striping and ADA curb ramps to enhance student safety.
On the stormwater front, Mr. Cagle asked the board to authorize a $117,000 contract with HRG to perform a stormwater funding study. "The purpose of this study is to evaluate the township's current stormwater program, identify future funding needs, and explore potential funding mechanisms," he said, framing the work as informational to help the board weigh funding options and regulatory obligations.
The board also authorized a $55,000 fixed‑cost engagement (plus on‑call hourly work and reimbursables) with AKRF for acoustical consulting. Mr. Cagle said the firm will review the township's noise ordinance, conduct ambient noise monitoring and advise on noise issues tied to emerging land uses such as data centers.
In other business, the board approved three resolutions: one expressing support for continued county open‑space and farmland preservation funding; an update to the 2026 tax duplicate reflecting one interim adjustment and five refunds totaling $1,411.48; and a resolution authorizing the police chief to sign an electronic access agreement for PennDOT's crash information tool, which provides more detailed and timelier crash data for traffic studies and enforcement.
The board also granted extension requests for development applications, including a second extension through July 31 for a six‑lot subdivision at 675 Peck Road and an extension for the Rockwell Downingtown LLC zoning/PRD submittal; tentative hearing dates for Rockwell were listed for July. Building department staff requested and the board authorized advertisement of two ordinance amendments — one governing industrial uses (warehouse/distribution facilities and data centers) and one updating hotel, motel and inn regulations — with hearings to follow at the July planning commission and board meetings.
