Jericho BCA trains election workers, tables voter-checklist changes ahead of Aug. 11 primary

The Town of Jericho Board of Civil Authority on June 3 held election worker training and delayed decisions on changes to the voter checklist as it prepared for the Aug. 11 state primary.
Jessica R. Alexander led a session for poll workers that used a PowerPoint presentation to review roles and responsibilities ahead of the primary, according to meeting minutes. "The next meeting will include preparation for the August 11th State Primary as well as an organizational meeting for tax appeals," Alexander told the board.
The board approved the Feb. 10, 2026 meeting minutes after Carol Smith moved to accept them and Kathleen B. Cramer seconded. The minutes record the motion as approved but do not include a vote tally.
Two items related to the voter checklist were put off. Applications to add names to the Jericho voter checklist and requests to delete names were both tabled to the next meeting, and the minutes do not record who moved or seconded those tablings.
The board noted the next meeting is expected in late July or early August to allow staff and volunteers to complete outreach and training before the state primary. No formal actions affecting the Aug. 11 election schedule were recorded at the June 3 meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m. on a motion by Mike Weinberg and a second by Carol Smith; the minutes were submitted by Jessica R. Alexander and are subject to approval at the next BCA meeting.
