Gresham staff outlines summer events in Rockwood; Market Hall fountain to run in daylight hours

A staff member told the commission that summer has been busy in Rockwood and that the city and GRDC have partnered on events, including a successful kickoff and Market Hall activities that drew families and community partners. “We do have approximately 30 events in which we'll be doing public engagement over the next few months in Rockwood,” the staff member said.
Jontay Ivory confirmed two near-term events at the Rockwood Market Hall: Queer Joy, a family-friendly celebration with live music and performances on Saturday, June 22 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Dreams of Yucatan, a celebration of Mayan and Yucatan culture with live music, dancing and traditional food on Sunday, June 23 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Staff said they will publish a full schedule of dates and times.
Commissioner DeNucci asked whether the Market Hall fountain has regular hours similar to downtown; staff said the fountain is open during regular daylight hours, weather permitting, and offered to follow up with a precise schedule.
The update was provided as part of the commission measures segment; no formal action or funding decisions were recorded during the discussion.
