The board voted unanimously to approve the sole-source contract. Commissioner Shurtleff moved to approve the SMP Architecture contract; Commissioner Lovlien seconded and the motion carried, 3–0.
Purchasing Manager Jon Gardner reviewed four proposals for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire-protection (MEP-FP) services and recommended WV Engineering Associates. The board approved a lump-sum contract of $11,900 plus $800 for additional site meetings. Gardner separately reported four structural engineering proposals and recommended Turner Group; the board approved a lump-sum contract of $8,540. Both contract approvals passed on 3–0 votes after motions from Commissioner Lovlien and seconds from Commissioner Shurtleff.
