The Ashland Historical Commission on April 14 approved previous meeting minutes, set outreach engagements and adjourned at 8:44 p.m.
During opening business Chair Jim Neilsen called for a motion to accept the February and March meeting minutes. Karen Coleman moved to accept the minutes and Curtiss Hoffman seconded; a roll-call vote was taken and passed with all members recorded as 'aye.'
For outreach, Jim Neilsen said the commission will staff a table at the farmers market on July 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Neilsen also said he spoke with Fabio Fragale about the Home Owner Preservation Certificate and that the commission will try to schedule that presentation after town meeting and televise it.
Miscellaneous items included a discussion that a member’s inquiry about a possible demolition would trigger a demolition delay upon permit application, and approval in principle to pursue a plaque at Workman’s Circle; the plaque idea was added to the next meeting agenda. The commission set its next meeting for Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., and then Curtiss Hoffman moved to adjourn. Helen Nickole seconded and a unanimous roll-call vote closed the meeting at 8:44 p.m.
