The Ashland Historical Commission on April 14 agreed to intensify outreach to support a proposed Local Historic District (LHD) intended for a warrant at the fall town meeting. Chair Jim Neilsen said it was time to move the effort toward a fall warrant while preparing over the summer.
Commissioners discussed outreach tactics; Peter Wilner and Makeda Keegan proposed using WACA interviews to promote the LHD locally. Neilsen said the commission will begin preparing materials and scheduling interviews to build awareness before the warrant is finalized.
The commission did not vote on the LHD at the meeting; members emphasized planning and public engagement as the next steps.
