At its May 20 meeting the Nemaha County Board of Commissioners approved routine claims and payroll, accepted a resignation in the Building & Grounds department, awarded a fuel contract for June 2026, and changed the first June meeting date to June 2 because commissioners will attend the NACO workshop.
The minutes record motions and roll-call votes: the board authorized payment of accounts-payable claims and payroll (roll-call vote: Mellage and Weiss "aye," Hall absent). The board accepted the resignation of Suki Fischer from the Building & Grounds position effective May 28, 2026. The board accepted a fuel bid from Sapp Brothers for June 2026, listing #2 clear diesel at $4.569 per gallon and regular with ethanol at $4.07 per gallon. The board voted to reschedule the first June meeting to Tuesday, June 2, 2026, to accommodate attendance at the NACO workshop in Kearney.
Other routine items included noting the Board of Equalization recess and reconvening, the boiler-replacement bids scheduled for the June 2 meeting and tabling a proposed semi-truck purchase for Road District #3. The minutes list the approved claims and payrolls in detail.
