Ammon officials outline signal upgrade, lift‑station relocation and sewer fixes; council hears TIPs priority update

City Engineer Morgan Stewart and Water/Wastewater Division Director Nathan Riblett briefed the Ammon City Council on several infrastructure items March 19.
Stewart said the city signed a contract with Arco Electric to upgrade the traffic signal at 17th and Ammon. He also confirmed that the Taylorview Lift Station relocation will start at the end of March and that the Judy site will be closed during construction. “The Taylorview Lift Station relocation will be starting at the end of March,” Stewart said; Nathan Riblett added, “No one is allowed to enter the site without the proper protection gear,” and asked council members to coordinate any site visits through him.
Riblett also told the council that the Sunnyside issue had not been a sewer‑line failure but rather voids caused by lava rock; crews have rectified the problem. Council Member Jeff Fullmer reported on a BMPO meeting indicating 2027 TIPs scores prioritized 21st and Crowley as second priority and John Adams and Ammon Road as third priority, improving the projects’ prospects for funding.
City staff additionally reported that RFQs for on‑call engineering and surveying closed and that a committee will evaluate submissions. The council received these updates and did not take formal action during the briefing.
