"The life total over 7 years is $1,409,719.12," he said, and then reviewed line items including a seven‑year Houghton Mifflin Harcourt adoption (about $634,611), an ALEKS adoption (about $151,290.14), a high‑school precalculus package ($19,552.98), an elementary Everyday Mathematics contract not to exceed $255,000 (two‑year), and an IXL learning total not to exceed $349,265 over seven years.
Board members sought clarity on budgeting and whether the change required additional immediate funds. Member Lund asked whether the dollar amounts had changed or were only presented differently; Dr. Brenner answered that the scope was always multi‑year but initially had been misstated as a one‑year adoption and that the first‑year budgetary impact was not larger than expected. Amber (board member) added that the district would not need to find an extra $200,000 in the first year and that the change mainly corrected the previous presentation.
The board first moved to rescind the 05/26/2026 adoption (the previous motion had cited $440,461.25) and then voted to approve the final contractual agreements as presented. The motions carried on roll call (the board recorded eight yes votes, zero no, and one absent).
