During the June 3 meeting the Common Council approved several administrative referrals and appointments. Alderperson Rick Lemke asked Buildings & Grounds to analyze and remove parking restrictions that affect homes east of the now-closed University of Waukesha; Alderperson Piper seconded and expanded the referral to include areas in District 4 that extend toward West End. The council asked staff to coordinate a joint referral and follow up.
The council also approved the reconstitution of the deferred compensation board, appointing the city attorney, HR director, finance director and Rebecca Pedersen (with Dean Lemke already serving as the council representative) to handle a handful of outstanding matters relating to the board. The motion to appoint passed unanimously.
Separately, a water-utility concern about autopay customers receiving a mailed payment notice that includes an envelope was referred directly to the Water Utility for continuous-improvement review.
What’s next: Buildings & Grounds will analyze parking restrictions and report back; council members indicated they would continue working together on a joint referral for District 4. The deferred compensation board will convene as needed to address outstanding business.
