Board issues several proclamations; staff and tribal representatives accept recognitions

The Solano County Board of Supervisors adopted proclamations recognizing Native American Heritage Month, 30 years of service by the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano and California Clerk of the Board Week; tribal and nonprofit representatives spoke briefly at the dais.
At the start of the meeting the Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution recognizing November as Native American Heritage Month in Solano County and heard a Patwin tribal representative describe cultural and stewardship ties to the land.
The board also adopted a proclamation recognizing 30 years of service by the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano; multiple staff and volunteers accepted the recognition and detailed the food bank’s county operations, volunteer base and purchasing strategies.
Separately, the board adopted a resolution observing California Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Week and Clerk Alicia Draeger spoke about the role the Clerk’s office plays in maintaining transparent public records and supporting public meetings.
All three proclamations were approved by voice vote during the meeting.
