Ceandra Roach elected chair as Orleans Elementary School Committee finalizes 2026–27 leadership slate

Ceandra Roach was elected chair of the Orleans Elementary School Committee for the 2026–27 school year after a roll-call vote during the committee’s June 8 meeting.
Ian Mack formally nominated Roach; the nomination was seconded and carried by roll call with Ron Collins, Ian Mack, Ginger Marks and Kathy Mcmary recorded as voting in favor. After the vote the committee moved on to approve a slate of committee and subcommittee appointments for the coming year.
Kathy Mcmary was nominated and confirmed as vice chair. Members also confirmed continuing and alternate assignments for several subcommittees: Ginger Marks will remain warrant authorizer with Ron Collins as alternate; volunteers were recorded for the central office budget subcommittee, transportation liaison, behavioral task force and Cape Cod collaborative among other roles.
The superintendent opened the meeting and framed the reorganization as an early step in preparing the district’s leadership team for next school year. Committee members said the assignments aim to balance continuity with new participation from recently appointed members.
The committee approved the full slate of appointments by motion and vote and then proceeded to priority business, including policy work and administrative updates. The reorganization vote concluded the formal leadership transition for the year ahead.
