Staff estimated 30 recycling barrels would cost about $2,200 to procure and warned the town currently lacks replacement barrels in inventory until the next annual order. Board members raised concerns about precedent and equal-treatment: some condo associations already receive town pickup because their street geometry permits truck access or due to prior settlement agreements, while other developments rely on private haulers or dumpsters. One board member recused from the vote because they live in a condo that benefits from a prior arrangement.
After discussion, the board moved to table the Cobble Creek request to allow staff to consult legal counsel on fee and equal-protection questions and to consider a fee structure for new condominium additions. The motion to table passed; one abstention was recorded.
