Board approves Health West urgent-care pay differential, training contract and equipment purchases

Health West representatives said the urgent-care site currently operates limited hours and has seen days with double-digit walk-ins; they requested a $4 per-hour differential for clinical staff and a $200 per-shift premium for medical directors, psychiatrists and mid-level practitioners (retroactive to Jan. 1, 2026) to attract and retain staff as they expand the program toward a 40-hour weekly operation. Staff said services are reimbursable through the CCBHC funding mechanism when eligible and that necessary budget amendments will be made during the amendment season.
On workforce development, the board approved a sole-source purchase (Crucial Learning) for "train the trainer" instruction and materials for up to 100 staff at a cost not to exceed $51,001.17, with discussion about materials cost per person and whether the content overlaps with diversity/inclusion efforts. Health West HR staff said the procurement buys certified trainers and materials so the organization can sustain training internally.
Separately, the board approved purchase of interactive 75- and 55-inch displays and extended warranties through a cooperative contract (CDW‑G) at a not-to-exceed cost of about $62,003.54. All motions passed by recorded votes (various tallies reported).
