The county previously sold an adjacent piece last year for about $1,700 per acre, staff said, and emphasized the current price reflected market interest despite lacking water and sewer infrastructure on the parcel.
Commissioners asked about original listing price and the identity of the buyer (staff said the buyer does not appear to be the same purchaser who bought the parcel across the road), and sought confirmation that proceeds would flow to the county’s public improvement fund; administration confirmed the revenue will be deposited to that fund and that future expenditures would require board authorization.
During roll call the motion carried 6‑yes, 1‑no.
