Grafton council approves records-destruction resolution, permit extensions, loan report and Midco lease increase

The City of Grafton City Council on Jan. 13 approved a series of routine measures including a resolution ordering the destruction of obsolete documents and multiple permit and lease actions.
On recommendation of the Ways and Means Committee, the council adopted Resolution No. 1804, "A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE DESTRUCTION OF OBSOLETE DOCUMENTS, RECORDS, FILES, PAPERS AND MATERIALS," by unanimous vote of members present. The council also approved payment of the General, Special, Capital Projects, Debt Service and Enterprise Funds bills as listed.
On the Public Utilities Committee recommendations, the council approved two temporary alcohol-license extensions for Maher El-Sarraf, LLC d/b/a Last Chance Bar & Grill to serve alcohol at the Armory: permit #1099 for the Stray Safe Inn (listed) and permit #1100 for CHI Friendship. The site-authorized events included a cornhole league on Wednesdays from Jan. 8 through March 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and a Friendship Christmas party on Jan. 17 from 5:00 p.m. to midnight; all votes were recorded as in favor by members present.
Administrator Nick Ziegelmann told the council the Economic Development Committee approved a $25,000 interest-free loan to Parks and Recreation to fund a study of the pool project; the loan is repayable within one year. The report was informational to the council.
The council also voted to renew the Midco shed lease, approving an annual rate increase from $1,200 to $1,400. Mr. Ray moved to adjourn at the meeting’s close; the motion carried.
