Taylor board approves leadership and ESL training for staff and a new PA system at Moody Elementary

At its April 22 meeting, the Taylor School District Board of Education approved three staff-development and facilities items and passed the consent agenda unanimously.
The board approved payment of $39,125 to fund five district candidates in the MASSP Pathway to Leadership program, using Title II funds. A separate motion approved funding for 10 candidates to participate in the TEACH ESL endorsement program at a total cost of $46,050, to be paid from Section 41 grant funds. Both motions were recorded as passing 6-0.
The board also approved a bid from Digital Age Technologies for the purchase and installation of a new public address system at Moody Elementary in the amount of $72,279. The motion to accept the bid passed 6-0.
Additionally, the board approved the consent agenda — minutes, payment of bills, personnel reports, field trips and conferences — by a 6-0 vote. The superintendent's report highlighted the upcoming Foundation for Educational Excellence Wall of Fame Gala, progress on the state school aid budget, and upcoming senior events. Items scheduled for the May 6 agenda were noted.
