Board Personnel Committee recommends four finalists for Grand Haven Area Public Schools board interviews

The Board Personnel Committee of Grand Haven Area Public Schools on Jan. 20 reviewed 18 applications for a board vacancy and recommended four finalists to the full school board for interviews.
According to the committee minutes, President Stack, Committee member Herrygers and Committee member Boyd had overlapping top choices that produced consensus to refer the following candidates for interviews: Zach Winterhalter, Emily Nail, Robyn Cook and Brook Bisonet. The minutes record each committee member’s ranked preferences prior to the meeting and show the four names above as the overlapping selections.
The committee also reviewed previously used interview questions alongside newly suggested items and agreed on a final set of questions to be used at the interviews scheduled for next week. In addition, members examined existing and newly proposed candidate-rating forms and reached consensus on the rating form that will guide scoring during the interviews.
No public comments were recorded during the meeting. The minutes list Jason Reinecke, Kristin Perkowski and Sara VanderZee as present but do not indicate that they spoke during the session. The meeting was called to order by President Stack at 12:01 p.m. and adjourned at 12:44 p.m.
The committee’s action is recorded as a consensus recommendation to the full Board; the minutes do not record a formal motion or a roll-call vote. The next procedural step is for the full Grand Haven Area Public Schools board to conduct interviews of the four recommended finalists during the board’s upcoming interview session next week.
