Woodland council approves three code updates to comply with state bills and building standards

Each ordinance was read for the second and final time and passed on motions with seconds recorded in the meeting. Councilmembers recorded affirmative votes for the ordinances after brief procedural comment; no substantive public testimony was recorded on the three items during the final-reading actions.
Council members said the building-code update should help address older structures downtown and make targeted retrofits easier. "These are the codes that have been out there updating our building codes which hopefully could help us with some of the buildings in downtown," a council member said during discussion.
