Ogden students recognized for top‑2% statewide ISAS math achievement

Two students were recognized at the board meeting for scoring in the top 2% statewide on the ISAS third-grade math assessment; staff said three district students qualified and encouraged them to apply for the national program component.
The board recognized three students who scored in the top 2% of third-grade test takers in Iowa on the ISAS math assessment. Staff said the assessment had 54 questions this year and that the students either answered all correctly or missed no more than three items, qualifying them for potential participation in a national math program if they apply and are selected.
Present at the meeting were Talia Binger and Kate Ericson; staff said Henry Armstrong was not able to attend. Staff described the accomplishment as rare for the district and noted the potential for the program to open additional coursework and opportunities through high school for selected students.
The board invited the students to the front for a photo and congratulated them for the achievement.
