Taylor board approves four MOUs to distribute Section 27L educator compensation funds

The Taylor School District Board unanimously approved Feb. 18 the memoranda of understanding needed to distribute Section 27L educator compensation funds to bargaining units for the 2025–2026 school year.
The board approved MOUs with the Taylor Principals Association (TPA), Taylor Federation of Teachers (TFT), Taylor Association of Central Staff Administrators (TACSA) and the Taylor School Support Staff Association (TSSSA). The district told trustees the state had allocated about $770,000 under Section 27L and that MOUs are required for distribution of those funds.
Motions and support recorded in the minutes were: TPA (motion by Ann Block; supported by Korey Morris), TFT (motion by Kathie Fields; supported by Mark Westphal), TACSA (motion by Ann Block; supported by Kathie Fields), and TSSSA (motion by Mark Westphal; supported by Kathie Fields). Each MOU passed 6‑0 with President Linda Moore excused.
The board’s action enables staff to implement the compensation distributions as specified in each MOU; minutes did not record distribution formulas or individual dollar amounts by bargaining unit. Administration indicated the district will execute the MOUs and coordinate with each bargaining group.
