Brandywine Community Library outlines summer programs, will join Swamp Fest

Library representative Catherine Emenheiser told the board the Brandywine Community Library will offer story times, technology help, 'Read to a therapy dog', Tween/Teen programs, Dungeons & Dragons, and a summer reading program (June 8–Aug 1); the library will participate in Swamp Fest on June 13 and host Book Bingo on June 8.
Catherine Emenheiser, representing the Brandywine Community Library Board, briefed the Longswamp Township Board on the library’s spring and summer offerings and outreach plans.
Emenheiser described weekly Story Times and a twice‑monthly Saturday Story Time, technology assistance sessions, a 'Read to a therapy dog' program, a Tween and Teen hangout on Monday nights, movie nights, adult craft hours, and Dungeons & Dragons for youth. The library’s summer reading program runs June 8 through Aug. 1 with a reading minutes goal that can earn gift cards from participating local businesses.
Upcoming events: Book Bingo on June 8 (10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.) with an 'Unearth a Story' theme; Swamp Fest participation on June 13; a Tortoise Trek and the library’s 'Sheldon’s Birthday Party' on Aug. 1 at Topton Community Park.
Why it matters: The library’s programs provide free literacy, technology and youth programming in the township and will be visible at Swamp Fest and other community events this summer.
