Commission approves Corner Post truck-stop subdivision in Williston ETJ with road and septic conditions

The City Commission on March 25 approved a major-subdivision application to create the Corner Post Addition in Williston’s extra-territorial jurisdiction, enabling a phased truck-stop project that would include a convenience store/restaurant, truck parking, fueling stations and a car wash.
City Planner Kent Jarcik told commissioners the Phase I scope includes building James Drive and a portion of Jackson Street to concrete standard, rough grading of remaining Jackson Street with drainage, and extending an 8-inch water line to tie into the Northwest Rural Water system to provide fire flow and service. The site is outside city limits, so Phase I will use an approved septic system rather than city sewer.
Jarcik said the final plat and restrictive covenants must be submitted 21 days before the Planning and Zoning Commission reviews the final plat, and Williston Township must approve the road design for James Drive before the final plat is returned to the commission. The commission approved the preliminary plat as conditioned (5–0).
