Board sets candidate-filing dates and forms three-member ad hoc committee for educator grievance

The board adopted a resolution establishing the filing period for affidavits of candidacy for the November general election: July 14 through July 28, closing July 28 at 5 p.m.; the filing process will take place through the district office with a $2 filing fee.
The board also moved to form an ad hoc committee of three board members to hear an appeal of a level-3 grievance filed by the Farmington Education Association (FEA). The motion specified that the committee's membership would be finalized by the vice chair, that the committee would hear the grievance on an expedited timetable (FEA had indicated availability this week), and that the committee would present a recommendation to the full board (with committee service no longer than 06/26/2026).
Finally, the board voted to move into closed session for labor-negotiation strategy (motion approved by voice vote at 6:57 p.m.).
