Board approves construction, service contracts and three resolutions in unanimous votes

The board adopted Resolution 2177 to accept completion and approve the contract with Matson Roofing for the Cab Tower re‑roofing project for $619,170.15 (pre‑tax); the item was approved by roll call 5–0. The board also adopted Resolution 2178 expressing support for Proposition 1, the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma’s 2026 park improvement and safety bond measure; that resolution passed by roll call 5–0.
To accommodate timing on recent bus deliveries (including electric vehicles with higher unit costs), the board adopted Resolution 2179 extending the 2025–26 transportation vehicle fund budget to provide sufficient expenditure authority; the resolution passed by roll call 5–0. Board members clarified the extension does not shift expense out of the current fiscal year but provides authority to accept buses received after the originally planned timetable; staff noted grant revenue will offset part of the electric bus cost.
Several interdistrict and program contracts also passed: a memorandum of understanding with Puget Sound Educational Service District for a Summer Discovery Program (TSD‑26‑029) with total grant funding of $700,000 for programming at Lincoln and Foss high schools, and a service contract (TSD‑26‑035) with Bethel School District for Nel Hoyt program services ($300,000, March 1, 2026–Aug. 31, 2027). Both items were approved on the consent/regular agenda.
