The contractor, Les, presented a revised price of $262,800 after removing pit-run gravel and county road work from the contract. Those removed items — previously totaling roughly $124,000 in the original bid — will be the county’s responsibility for sourcing and placement. The agreement retained mobilization, concrete and gate/fencing line items. Commissioners moved and seconded the contract approval and recorded the motion as carried with no opposition on the record.
The contractor gave a tentative schedule: footing work was expected in late July (with rebar arriving the following Monday), wall pours near the end of July, slabs the following week and fence/gate installation thereafter. The contractor and county road staff discussed logistics for gravel sourcing (local pits and vendor quotes were mentioned) and the preferred sequence to leave road work until after the structure was set.
County staff said the project is a 90-day contract with the contractor estimating approximately 30 days of active on-site work (start date recorded at the board meeting). Commissioners and the county road supervisor agreed to coordinate hauling, spreading and rolling of 8-inch pit-run material to match the contractor’s schedule and to align payment and invoicing procedures.
