The purchases would expand the trackless fleet from four to six vehicles and add snow raiders that the department does not currently have.
Councillors asked about priority lists for sidewalk clearing (schools, village centers and bus stops receive highest priority), useful life (staff estimated about 15 years) and whether sidewalk work is contracted or done in‑house (staff said most is internal; bids have drawn limited contractor interest). The committee approved the appropriation 7–0.
