Council, police honor Citizens Police Academy graduates

The Gloucester Township Council and police department recognized graduates of the Citizens Police Academy during the June 8 meeting.
Lieutenant Fischer, commander of the Community Relations Bureau, thanked participants and staff for completing the 15‑week program and highlighted the academy’s role in building trust between residents and police. "For those who don't know me, I'm Lieutenant Fischer, the commander of the community relations bureau," he said while calling graduates forward to accept certificates. Corporal McHugh was acknowledged for logistical support during the sessions.
Council members congratulated the graduates and encouraged residents to sign up for future sessions. The council took a brief recess to take a group photo and said signups for the next academy will open soon.
The council urged the community to attend the upcoming Juneteenth celebration and closed the meeting after additional routine items and remarks.
