Board hears summer facilities work: new carpet, lockers, loading dock and bleacher work at Yankton schools

Lincoln will have interior repainting and carpet in two classrooms and two offices; the SIM building will receive painting and flooring updates. Staff also described a concrete pad for buddy benches to replace gravel areas.
Board members thanked facilities staff for the summer work and noted the heavy effort required from custodians and teachers to prepare buildings. One member described finding decades of notes and photographs behind removed middle‑school lockers and suggested contacting former students to share found items.
No formal action was taken on the report; several projects referenced contracts or contractors but the board did not vote on additional appropriations in this meeting.
