Business manager reports audit nearing completion; district revenue picture improving

Mister Arnold presented the district's monthly financial report and an update on two pending fiscal audits, saying auditors are "wrapping everything up" and the board should receive the audit report by email within a week. Board members will have seven days to review before the audit is released publicly, and the administration plans to present the audit at the July board meeting.

"I've pulled the trigger with everything, just here last week, so they're wrapping everything up," Arnold said. He added the district is completing two fiscal-year audits, which has prolonged the process, but said once current audits are complete the district hopes to return to an annual audit cycle. Board members and staff discussed delays caused by prior staffing turnover in the state office and local business-office moves.

Arnold also summarized revenue and expenditure activity: local and county revenues are over projections (in part because of prior taxes collected), one state payment remains outstanding, and the district caught up federal reimbursements after early-year processing changes. He described the overall financial position as "pretty good" heading into the end of the fiscal year and said the district is tracking to close the books by July 1.

Board members asked whether specific outstanding bills had been resolved; Arnold said there are no major outstanding bills left and that the department had worked through prior reconciliations. The board expressed appreciation for the business office's progress and coordination with the superintendent's team.
