The City of Foley Planning Commission approved two items March 18 relating to The Waters at OWA: a minor subdivision of roughly 150 acres into two lots, and a planned development district (PDD) modification for the same property. Both actions passed unanimously.
City Planner Miriam Boone told the commission that staff recommended approval of the minor subdivision and the PDD modification; she said a site plan for the project will be submitted to the commission at a later date. Stoa Group is listed as the applicant for the subdivision and PDD modification. Developer representative Blake Brinson said the multi-family portion of the development would include 312 units. Commissioner Bill Swanson moved to approve the minor subdivision (Commissioner Vera Quaites seconded) and later moved to approve the PDD modification (Commissioner Calvin Hare seconded); both motions passed with all commissioners present voting aye.
The minutes list the property location as north of OWA Boulevard and west of the Foley Beach Express. The commission recorded no public comment on the subdivision item during the meeting.
The site plan and any subsequent development proposals are expected to be reviewed by staff and returned to the commission for approval, per the staff remarks recorded in the minutes.
