Pittsburg County approves juvenile detention services agreement at $39.20 per day

Pittsburg County commissioners on June 1 approved a Detention Services Agreement with ROCMND Area Youth Services, Inc. to place county juveniles at the Craig County Regional Juvenile Detention Center for fiscal year 2026–27.
Selman told the board the rate is "$39.20 a day per child." Selman moved to approve the agreement and Haynes seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The signed agreement in the meeting packet states the county will reimburse Youth Services at $39.20 per child per day and that the facility is certified and licensed by the Office of Juvenile Affairs.
The agreement makes clear that Pittburg County must arrange transportation and provide necessary court orders in a timely manner; the county remains responsible for filing petitions and ensuring legal and OJA procedures are followed. The contract includes standard clauses on emergency medical care, HIPAA compliance and termination with 30 days’ written notice.
Next steps: the county will process reimbursement claims monthly upon receipt of invoices from ROCMND/Craig County Regional Detention Center. The minutes record no dissent and no additional stipulations were added during the meeting.
