Samuel J. Valters, who the meeting identified as the interim superintendent and who served last year as the high school principal, thanked Dr. Reynolds and the board. “Thank you, Dr. Reynolds, and thank you for your strong, successful, and positive leadership over the last four years,” Valters said. He said he was “so excited to get started,” that he planned to use the summer to introduce his vision for the Garfield Heights City School District to the community, and that he aims to build on recent successes.
