Advisory board to invite candidates for two COA vacancies; schedules August meeting and local events

Beverly circulated bios for two candidates; members recommended inviting each candidate to a future meeting so the board can meet them before forwarding names to the select board for appointment.
Members discussed timing and term lengths. The board agreed by voice vote to meet on August 11 to allow time during the transition period for introductions and for a potential meeting with the incoming director if schedules permit.
The board also heard several community and outreach announcements: a tech class on artificial intelligence for seniors is scheduled for June 17 (registration requested by phone to the COA); the Westport Art Group is hosting a multi-day exhibition and the COA may provide van transportation for afternoon visits; Riverday is scheduled for June 20 and the COA plans to participate; and Stroke Buddies and Friends will be honored at the State House on June 24 (taped for local viewing because the ceremony is by invitation only).
Members agreed to invite the two candidates to a July or August meeting and to publicize volunteer and appointment opportunities more widely through newsletters and social outreach.
