A committee member reporting to the Brandon Valley School District 49-2 board said the transportation committee recommends adding two vehicles next year — a large diesel bus and a minivan — and warned the district needs substitute drivers to cover routes.
The committee member said the committee met roughly June 1 with Superintendent Larson to review the prior year and plan additions for the coming year. “We are also looking for drivers,” the member said, noting the district needs part-time substitutes to help through the coming year.
The district will mail postcards with transportation timelines on July 1 and set an end-of-July deadline for responses. Trustees did not take formal action on a purchase during the meeting; the committee report was informational and will inform future procurement or board action.
