Commissioners approve grant application, tax adjustments, road‑salt contract and PTA raffle licenses

Audubon borough commissioners unanimously approved a slate of routine resolutions at their Oct. 7 caucus meeting, including an application to the T‑Mobile Hometown Grant program to seek funds for a new portable stage and multiple tax and procurement actions.
The board ratified Resolution 2025‑162 authorizing an application for the T‑Mobile Hometown Grant to purchase a portable stage. Commissioner Wendell made the motion to approve; Commissioner Alemi seconded and the voice vote carried.
Commissioners adopted Resolution 2025‑163 to authorize a veteran tax deduction for 2025 and to adjust and refund $250.00 in 2025 property taxes for Block 25, Lot 1. Commissioner Alemi moved the measure and Commissioner Wendell seconded; a unanimous roll call vote passed.
Resolution 2025‑164 authorized a refund of an overpayment of third‑quarter 2025 property taxes for Block 108, Lot 6 in the amount of $2,277.95. The motion carried on a unanimous roll call vote.
The board awarded a contract under the Camden County Cooperative Pricing System for sodium chloride (road salt) to Morton Salt, Inc. (Resolution 2025‑165). Commissioner Wendell moved the award and Commissioner Alemi seconded; the roll vote was unanimous.
Two raffle licenses for Audubon Grade School PTA were approved for Dec. 6, 2025: a 50/50 raffle (License #06‑2025; Resolution 2025‑166) and a basket raffle (License #07‑2025; Resolution 2025‑167). Both motions were made by Commissioner Wendell and seconded by Commissioner Alemi and carried on voice votes.
The commissioners later approved Resolution 2025‑168 to enter closed session for matters of litigation at 5:28 p.m.; they returned at 6:03 p.m. and adjourned the caucus at 6:04 p.m.
