Hollis/Brookline school district holds public hearing on special meeting to cure warrant-signature defect

The Hollis/Brookline Cooperative School District held a public hearing on Tuesday evening to notify residents that a special district meeting will be held June 17 to consider a warrant article intended to cure a procedural defect related to a previous warrant posting.

A district official reading the article told attendees the meeting was being scheduled pursuant to RSA 40:16 and said the special meeting is set for June 17, 2026, at 5:45 p.m. in the Hollis Brookline Middle School gym. "Shall the district vote to cure the procedural defect caused by the lack of board member signatures on the warrant posting related to the March 19th 2026 annual meeting?" the official asked during the hearing.

The hearing opened at 6:55 p.m. in the middle school library, where the chair asked those at the dais to introduce themselves. Participants identified themselves as Amy Kellner of Hollis and Rob Mann of Hollis; Kate Stoll of Brookline introduced herself as vice chair; Gina Bergslug as superintendent; Lance Migno as business administrator; and Tom Stollon was also named. The official opened the floor for public comment at 6:56 p.m., saying the district would take testimony in favor and in opposition in sequence, and then closed the public hearing at 6:57 p.m.

Under RSA 40:16 the district may call a special meeting to address procedural or other issues that affect warrant validity; the hearing served to inform the public and announce the special meeting date, time and location. No vote on the article took place during the June 9 hearing. The special meeting to act on Article 1 is scheduled for June 17, 2026, at 5:45 p.m. in the middle school gym.
