RED WILLOW COUNTY, Neb. — The Red Willow County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on May 26 to approve a consent agenda that included a $300,000 transfer from the county general fund to the self‑insurance fund and the authorization of accounts payable and payroll claims.
Chairman Ted Gans and Commissioners Randy Dean and Charles Fritsche approved the consent items on a motion by Commissioner Charles Fritsche, seconded by Commissioner Randy Dean. The motion, taken at 9:20 a.m., listed accounts payable and payroll claims in the amount of $690,205.96 and approved Resolution No. 1589 (Book 24, Page 96) to transfer $300,000 from General Fund 0100 to Self‑Insurance Fund 1275.
The consent agenda also included approval of minutes from prior Board of Commissioners and Board of Equalization meetings; designation of NACO and the State Print Shop for joint public hearing postcards; and the surplus of an Extension Premier Paper Shredder.
The county clerk’s detailed claims roll, which the board placed on file, lists itemized claims across multiple funds and shows a grand total of $691,035.08. The motion to approve the consent agenda referenced the amount of $690,205.96; the detailed roll filed in the record lists a slightly different overall total of $691,035.08 across General, Road, Fair, Self‑Insurance, Arena, Health and Waste funds.
County correspondence reviewed and placed on file included a TERC Finding and Order and a Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy notice regarding a Construction and Operating Permit for Hauxwell Land & Cattle LLC. The board also reviewed the Sheriff’s and County Clerk’s monthly revenue reports.
The meeting was recessed for a brief Board of Equalization session and reconvened; the commissioners adjourned the meeting at 9:45 a.m. and set the next meeting for June 8, 2026.
