Superintendent reports attendance gains, summer school plans and playground replacement

Jaworski noted strong senior-awards results and scholarship support: he said the total scholarships "is over $900,000" and later added "maybe over $1,000,000, all scholarships considered," reflecting two ways the figures were described in his remarks. He congratulated the class of 2026 and named the valedictorian and salutatorian.
On attendance Jaworski said the district has seen continuous quarter-over-quarter growth and that elementary fourth-quarter attendance finished "above 80 percent." "As a whole, we're hitting above that 80%," he said, crediting administrators and staff for the improvement and noting middle- and high-school progress as well.
Jaworski described elementary summer school running June 2 through June 18 focused on targeted reading instruction and interventions to support students who will retake the IREAD assessment. He said mornings include breakfast, morning meeting and small-group instruction.
The superintendent also described an elementary playground project: the existing play area is closed for leveling and installation. Donors named in the presentation include the Campbell Family Foundation, Tipton County Foundation and TESO; the city of Tipton and the Tipton County Highway Department assisted with removal and site preparation. He said a groundbreaking ceremony was planned for the Friday following the meeting (weather permitting) at noon and a ribbon-cutting at the district's Back to School Blue Devil Bash on Aug. 4 at 4:00.
Jaworski and administrative staff offered to provide additional information to the board on attendance initiatives and to coordinate communications about the playground timeline with families.
