Bond update: Wixom driving vertical, phased work at Western and planning for series‑3 elementary projects

Kevin Donnelly of PMR (Plant Moran) presented the district’s quarterly bond dashboard and project schedule and told the board that roughly $110 million in awards have been issued for the 2024 bond program so far. He reviewed active projects, near‑term milestones and planned spring/summer work across sites.
"Wixom Elementary is going vertical with the building; structural steel and masonry are ongoing," Donnelly said, and he reported that the district expects the building to be substantially enclosed before winter so interior finishes can continue. He also outlined multi‑phase work at Western High School (athletic facility upgrades and phase turnovers) and ongoing remodeling at Northern High School that is slated to be completed for the upcoming school year.
Donelly described the district’s quarterly dashboard (posted under the bond tab on the district website) showing financial snapshots, progress photos and project schedules. He said the first projects for the 2024 bond were bid in a favorable market and the team is monitoring cash flows and move‑management planning for this summer’s work.
Board members asked about bid climate, painting/upkeep scope questions and timeline specifics; Donnelly and administration staff noted planning and phasing details and said they will bring specific project bids to the board for approval as the next series of projects are ready to proceed.
