Mayor D.C. Reeves unveiled a new banner at Pensacola International Airport that promotes the city’s partnership with American Magic and SailGP and encourages visitors to recognize Pensacola as a national sailing destination. "We are the sailing destination of the United States of America," Reeves said, noting the banner is installed beside baggage claim one.
Reeves said the city held a press conference earlier upstairs at the airport and then took photos with American Magic partners at the banner location. He pointed out an American Magic QR code on the display and urged travelers and residents to use it "to learn more about everything that they have going on and we're really excited for our sailing future."
The mayor emphasized the banner is intended as both a promotional tool for tourism and a way to publicize Pensacola’s ongoing partnership with competitive sailing events. He directed viewers to the QR code as a way to access further details about upcoming events and partnerships. The city did not announce additional funding or event dates in this video.
The mayor closed the segment after the airport appearance and said he would report back on future developments related to the city’s sailing partnerships.
