Commissioners expressed concern about identifying funding for the purchase and asked staff to explore capital savings and grant opportunities. One commissioner moved to approve the purchase with the expectation the department will apply for grants and use any available capital savings; the motion passed.
County emergency‑management staff noted regional demand and the importance of having dedicated transport capable of carrying the HAZMAT and emergency facility trailers safely.
