Audubon County board votes to move forward with temporary removal of rural supplemental levy

Sheriff Johnson joined a later reconvened session to describe department staffing needs and to explain that wage increases proposed in the FY26 budget are intended to fully staff the sheriff’s office. The board discussed related equipment needs—Engineer Mitch Rydl raised motor grader purchases as part of road-maintenance planning—but voted to move forward with the levy-removal proposal (motion Mosinski/Grabill; vote all in favor).
