Ashwaubenon board approves 17 Early College/Start College Now requests and renews Title I parent engagement policy

Dirk Ribbens and Christina Fitzpatrick presented 17 Early College Credit/Start College Now requests for Spring 2026—nine SCN and eight ECC—and said the district's CNA program at Woodside is full with 10 students; overflow will be placed at NWTC. Christina Fitzpatrick explained that when an ECC student meets graduation requirements and takes an ECC course, the student pays 25% of the course cost and the district pays the balance.
Trustee VanDeKreeke moved to approve the 17 ECC/SCN requests; Trustee Anderson seconded. The minutes record the motion as carried (Aye 4, Nay 0).
Separately, Michael Heim presented the Parent and Family Engagement in Title I Programs and policy 2261.01 for the board's required annual review. Heim said the policy was shared at open houses and accompanied by a new informational video; the board approved the policy on a motion by Anderson, seconded by VanDeKreeke (Aye 4, Nay 0).
Both items were approved without dissent. The approvals allow students who qualify to pursue college credit options in spring 2026 and keep the district in compliance with Title I parent engagement requirements.
