Ashwaubenon board certifies 2025 District Crisis Response Plan, adds badge and Raptor provisions

Tammy Nicholson and Brian Carter presented updates to the Ashwaubenon School District's 2025 District Crisis Response Plan, and the board certified the plan at the Dec. 10 meeting.
Nicholson and Carter described several operational changes the board reviewed: all staff will be required to wear district ID badges; the district will use the Raptor system for visitor management (visitor driver'license scanning and badge issuance) and as an emergency-management tool through a staff Raptor app that can provide building alerts and assist with reunification and student accounting during drills and incidents. Board members asked about how substitute teachers would access Raptor information; presenters said subs may temporarily use a neighboring teacher's cellphone to access necessary information and that many neighboring districts already use Raptor.
The board discussed confidentiality and transparency; presenters said the crisis plan document is confidential and available to staff and others who need it, and noted ongoing coordination with Ashwaubenon Public Safety and public-safety liaisons. Officer Brian Amenson was referenced as part of the district crisis team and will participate in upcoming trainings.
Brett VandeWalle moved to certify the plan and VanDeKreeke seconded; the motion carried 5-0 (Vyskocil, Garrigan, VandeWalle, Anderson, VanDeKreeke).
