At the June 8 meeting Mayor Lander brought forward the budget items and the council moved to adopt the fiscal year 2026 amended budget and the proposed fiscal year 2027 budget. Councilmember Brad Peacock moved to adopt the FY2026 amended budget; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote with 'Aye' responses recorded.
The council then considered the proposed FY2027 budget and similarly voted to adopt the proposed FY2027 budget by voice vote. During budget discussion the council also approved a transfer of funds from the utility account to the general account for fiscal year 2027 with a maximum amount of $40,000; Debbie Redford was identified to issue the required transfer notification.
Financial balances announced in the meeting included a utility fund balance of $319,082.56, a general fund balance read in the meeting as approximately $62,059.77, a Pleasant Valley Days fund balance of about $57,246.34, and a B & C road fund balance of $112,637.90. Council members discussed that transfers and allocations would be adjusted among those funds to accommodate capital needs in the coming year.
