Montezuma County clerk: primary ballots mailed, early voting schedule set

County Clerk Kim Purcell told commissioners on June 9 that primary ballots would be mailed that week and that early in-person voting opens June 22 at the annex (107 North Chestnut). Drop boxes at several locations — Dolores Town Hall, Mancos Town Hall, Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Headquarters, Cortez City Hall and Cox Corners — will be opened on June 23.
Purcell reminded unaffiliated voters that they will receive two ballots in their packet (one Democratic and one Republican) and that only one should be returned; returning both will disqualify the ballots. She reported that the logic-and-accuracy test returned 100% (no discrepancies) and that staff and party judges participated in hand tallies and observation.
Purcell encouraged voters who want tracking updates to sign up for BallotTrax, which notifies residents when a ballot is mailed, received and accepted.
