Commission gives first reading to permanently extend 1% parks sales tax

City Attorney Taylor Olson presented the ordinance on first reading and clarified that the commission was not considering a joint powers agreement at this meeting. Commissioner Brad Bekkedahl moved to approve and adopt Ordinance No. 1166 and directed the City Finance Director and City Auditor to file a certified copy with the North Dakota State Tax Commissioner and to complete codification, publication and implementation steps. The motion passed with all five commissioners recorded as voting aye.
