During its May 11 session the Garden City Public Library Board of Trustees approved a one-year suspension for a patron, authorized extended paid sick leave for Account Clerk Linda DaSilva through June 8, 2026 (or earlier return), and adopted the library’s Strategic Plan for 2026–2028.
Trustee Mary Maguire moved each personnel-related motion and Trustee Paul O’Grady seconded; the actions carried by unanimous vote of trustees present. The extended paid sick leave was approved “pursuant to the provisions of the contract between the Incorporated Village of Garden City and the Civil Service employees’ Association, Inc., Local 882 AFSCME,” as recorded in the minutes.
Chair Colleen Foley also moved that the board enter executive session to discuss personnel matters; the motion passed. The meeting exited regular session at 8:30 p.m., entered executive session at 8:35 p.m., and returned to open session at 9:07 p.m., after which the meeting adjourned at 9:08 p.m.
The Strategic Plan 2026–2028 was presented and adopted at the meeting; trustees did not record additional amendments at time of adoption.
