The department requested an investigation and a report back to council at the June 11 meeting; council authorized the investigation by voice vote.
Council members discussed the challenge of identifying similar properties with interior problems, noting that outside blight criteria help identify candidates but that obtaining interior access often requires outreach through partner agencies such as senior services. Staff said the blight committee is developing outside criteria to triage additional properties for follow‑up action.
